Iowa Valley Community College Grinnell honored its students on Wednesday, May 4, recognizing those intending to graduate and presenting awards. MaryAnne Nickle, Dean of Iowa Valley Grinnell, welcomed students, family members, faculty and staff who gathered for the ceremony and reception held on the Iowa Valley Grinnell campus.

Nickle noted that this spring and fall there were over 700 Iowa Valley Grinnell students who took more than 4,300 credit hours. She expressed congratulations on behalf of the faculty and staff to the 19 diploma and associate degree graduate applicants and the winners of numerous awards presented for academic achievement and campus leadership.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better school to attend,” says Lorraine Vasquez, winner of this year’s Phi Theta Kappa Pressing On Award. “I want to personally thank Laura [Armstrong] and Barb [Hall] and the rest of the faculty. I wouldn’t be standing here today if it weren’t for the faculty and students at Iowa Valley Grinnell.”

The Iowa Valley Grinnell students will walk across the stage at Marshalltown Community College Commencement on May 6 in Marshalltown. Faculty members and support staff presented awards as follows:
