MCC Bill Faust Student Union open house is Sept. 22

Marshalltown Community College will host an open house this month to showcase its newly remodeled student union. The William “Bill” Faust Student Union is the result of a $1.1 million remodeling project that began back in May of this year.
The open house will take place on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 3:30 – 5 pm, with a brief program to take place at 4:30.
“Our students are already enjoying the new space, so we are excited for our community to see how engaging spaces connect students to their overall campus experience, while joining us in celebrating the gift of this wonderful patron,” says Dr. Robin Lilienthal, MCC Provost.
Some of the highlights of the new space include glass walls and doors, radial lighting, new carpet, several study “nooks”, a fireplace, and multiple big screen TVs. A new and improved stage will now host events such as movies, entertainment, lectures, and other special events.
Funds for this project were made possible by a generous donation from the late MCC alumnus, William “Bill” Faust.
The open house is open to the public, and will take place at Marshalltown Community College, 3700 S. Center Street. Parking is available in the east parking lot, and guests should enter the doors by the gazebo.
