The Willows of Marshalltown announces new MCC Scholarship
Tuesday / April 5, 2016
Beginning this spring a new scholarship will be available to Marshall County high school students for Marshalltown Community College.
The Willows of Marshalltown, an assisted living and memory care community currently being developed in Marshalltown, believes in supporting friends and neighbors in Marshall County by providing extended educational opportunities for local high school students.
The Willows president Ben Daniels welcomes the opportunity to help the whole community through MCC. “We want to support our city and work together to build a thriving community for everyone in Marshalltown. We’re building a wonderful place at The Willows to care for mom and dad right here at home in Marshalltown. We believe that our young people play an important role in building a strong community and we are offering this scholarship to help further their dreams right here at home too.”
Up to two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year to qualified students with renewal possible for students qualifying for their second year. Students can apply online by visiting MarshalltownCommunityCollege.com and filling out the MCC Scholarship App on the ‘Scholarships’ page.
Donors wishing to contribute to or establish scholarship funds are encouraged to contact MCC Foundation Executive Director Carol Geil for more information at 641-844-5747 or carol.geil@iavalley.sites.flyinghippo.com. Gifts to the MCC Foundation are always tax-exempt!
